Cake decorating is fun and it's so satisfying to see the finished
product. This practical course has saved our family so much
money. I used to spend $20-30 on a birthday cake but now I can
make one for $8-10. The kids love the specialized cakes and
everyone is amazed that I made it. If you are good at it, it could
become your part-time job.

- If you are pressed for time use boxed cake mix and
canned vanilla icing which you can tint.
- more complicated cakes will need stiffer icing like
buttercream.
- Icing color gel is better than liquid color.
- Buy cake pans that you know you can use several
times.
- If possible, rent specialty pans from bulk food stores
and specialty stores.
- Be creative...use little toys as props.
- Give yourself enough time. It takes me an hour or so
to decorate.
